The Athens Technical College administration is inviting faculty members, staff, and students to submit their ideas to be considered for our Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). The QEP is a student-centered learning initiative and part of ATC’s reaffirmation of accreditation process established by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), our regional accrediting organization. “Designation as an accredited college assures students access to federal aid and demonstrates that the college meets or exceeds required quality standards for teaching and learning,” said Dr. Mary Clare DiGiacomo, Director of the Center for Teaching & Learning. Athens Technical College was first accredited by SACSCOC in 1988. “The QEP is a new part of the accreditation process for the college, Dr. DiGiacomo said. “It gives our college an opportunity to look at our institution, look for areas around student learning that need to be improved, and then focus on a specific area and develop a plan to address that area of student learning and/or the learning environment,” she said.
